Our planet is undoubtedly changing. The Earth’s average temperature has increased and continues to increase due to human action. The Industrial Revolution allowed our ancestors to lay the groundwork for many technological advances that we so conveniently utilize today. Historically, progress meant increased efficiency, mass production, and immediate results. These principles, accompanied with technology, have progressed our species quickly but they have also led us down a dangerous path of false success. We have inherited and adopted unsustainable systems that were implemented hundreds of years ago. We have gotten comfortable with these principles, shortsightedly ignoring the consequences that are actually colossally affecting our planet.
It’s time to reroute the future and construct sustainable living systems that do not alter the planet’s natural course. Earth is currently progressing in the wrong direction and it’s our responsibility to redefine what progress really looks like.
